Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for 1 highly qualified CD Assistant to help expand its program in Iran. 
 
About us 
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1956 that works in more than 35 countries throughout the world. DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. Under its mandate, the organization focuses on emergency humanitarian response, rehabilitation and post-conflict recovery. DRC aims at protecting refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights.  
 
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operational in Iran since the spring of 2012 through one office in Tehran. DRC Iran forms part of the regional DRC response to the Afghan displacement axis in Central Asia and South West Asia (CASWA), covering Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Tajikistan. 
 
About the job 
The CD Assistant will be a multi-purpose resource in the office, capable of supporting admin, procurement and logistics tasks across support and program units. The CD will deploy the Assistant to different departments within DRC in order to provide assistance with administrative and technical tasks. The position requires strong skills in IT, administration and documentation, as well as good communication skills, willingness to learn and flexibility. It offers exposure to different units within DRC and an opportunity to engage with a variety of stakeholders working with displacement issues.
 
 
Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
Procurement and Logistics 
  • Maintaining the OR tracker 
  • Conducting small scale (Single Quote) purchases 
  • Participating in training regarding establishment of the procurement process 
  • Supporting administratively the setup of a) framework agreements, b) a vendor list, c) an online procurement system 
  • Supporting basic office running activities  
 
HR, Admin 
  • Support teams as requested by the CD, on particular issues that may include SSO payments, HR administration including updating of internal systems 
  • Support teams as requested by the CD on administrative issues including filing, scanning, updating of Dropbox files 
 
Monitoring and Evaluation  
  • Support teams as requested by the CD on data entry and cleaning 
  • Support teams as requested by the CD on entry of forms into online data collection systems.  
  • Perform other duties, as needed or requested.

  • Ensure good communications

Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required  Experience and education: 
  • Bachelor in a relevant subject 
  • Working experience with administration  
  • Good English  
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Computer skills including MS- Office 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities
 
Desirable 
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of protection activities 
  • Familiar with the Afghan context
 
We offer 
Contract length: Temporary 3 months contract
