Background 
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has worked in the South Caucasus since 1996 in addressing the displacement of approximately 900,000 IDPs in the region as a result of three main conflicts (in South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Nagorno-Karabakh). Currently DRC works on the issues related to the displacement of 273,944 IDPs (as per the Georgian IDP Ministry’s statistics of December, 2016) in Georgia proper and in Abkhazia. The caseload consists of a complex mix of old and new IDPs in Georgia proper and returnees in Abkhazia. Recently, Syrians of Caucasian origin and Ukrainians in Abkhazia were added to the group targeted by DRC interventions. 
Currently DRC works through 4 offices in Georgia (including a main office in Tbilisi) in the following sectors: 
Livelihood and economic activities; 
Rehabilitation of community infrastructure;  
Capacity building of Government bodies at the central and municipal levels; 
Protection monitoring, advocacy and civil society development. 
 
DRC’s donors are EU, UNHCR, PRM and Danida.  
 
Position’s Overall Objective: 
 
The M&E intern, under the supervision of M&E Coordinator, will contribute to DRC’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system’s smooth operation. 

Key Tasks/Responsibilities: 
  • Carry out desk reviews on various topics as assigned by M&E Coordinator; 
  • Plan and carry out interviews with stakeholders on topics relevant for the program development;  
  • Assist in the development of monitoring tools; 
  • Participate in data collection via different methods (e.g. beneficiary interviews, focus group discussions); 
  • Process data; 
  • Participate in data analysis and report writing; 
  • Assist M&E Coordinator in the presentation of monitoring and evaluation findings; 
  • Assist M&E Coordinator in managing and updating DRC’s grants management online system as well as keeping project document accurately stored both in electronic and paper format;    
  • Translate documents between English and Georgian languages; 
  • Assist in all office administration and clerical work; 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.  
 
Required Key Competencies: 
  • Currently studying or graduated maximum 2 years ago in the fields of political studies, social studies or similar;  
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills; 
  • Fluent in Georgian and English (spoken and written); 
  • Strong computer skills, particularly, with excel;  
  • Strong planning and organization skills; 
  • Ability to pay attention to details; 
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a professional manner and to professionally represent the organization to the community where projects serve; 
  • Experience with data collection and data entry will be considered an advantage. 
 
Duration: 6 months (full-time)   
Start date: As soon as possible 
Remuneration: Paid internship 
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator 
Works closely with: Tbilisi based staff
