We are looking for a highly qualified Psycho-social staff care consultant .

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an International non-governmental organisation, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people worldwide.  

DRC has been actively assisting people and communities affected by the current Syrian crisis since 2011, with programmes in support of Syrians in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Syria.  

   

About the job

To conduct psychosocial needs assessment, undertake stress management training and advise the organization on the establishment of psychosocial support mechanisms for staff.

The Psycho-social staff care Consultant reports to HR Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct a psychosocial assessment for DRC Syria office and field staff to identify and address the needs.
  • Undertake Stress Management Training for all DRC Syria staff in Damascus, Homs and Daraa (300 approx.).
  • Prepare a written report that contain collated psychosocial needs assessment data, an analysis of the findings and outcomes of intervention and recommendations to address psychosocial needs.
  • Suggest a mechanism for individual psychosocial support/counselling for staff.
  • Provide one to one consultations.

Moreover we also expect the following:

Essential skills:

  • University Degree in Psychology or any other related field.
  • Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian issues.
  • Good verbal and written English Skills.

Essential experience:

  • minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of staff care and psychosocial support in Syria.
  • Previous work experience in the humanitarian sector.

Preferred attributes:

  • Licensed Psychotherapist.

 

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a one month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of consultants.
