International Consultancy for an Analysis of Situation of Children’s and Women’s Rights in Turkmenistan

The overall goal of the current Government of Turkmenistan-UNICEF Country Programme Co-operation (2016-2010) is to accelerate the universal realization of child rights through aligning Turkmenistan’s legal framework, policies and practices for children with international standards and best practices.

UNICEF in Turkmenistan is going to engage an international consultant to support UNICEF and partners to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the situation of children’ and women’ rights (SitAn) in the country.

The purpose of the consultancy is to provide an objective and verifiable analysis of the situation of the rights of children and women in Turkmenistan, which will be used by all partners in addressing key challenges preventing children, especially the most disadvantaged, from enjoying their rights ensured in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and other international obligations of the country.

The consultancy duration is 50 working days, covering the period of 1 Nov 2017 – 30 Mar 2018. The consultant is expected to work home-based most of the time (35 days home-based) undertaking two country visits (15 days in-country) during the consultancy period.
