NRC has an urgent need to recruit an Humanitarian Access Advisor who can be part of a scoping mission and potentially start up of NRC's activities in and in connection with the ongoing situation in Libya.

Our Ideal Candidate:

For this position we are looking for someone with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a humanitarian/recovery context, and can be part of a scoping mission and potentially start-up of NRC's activities in and in connection to the ongoing conflict in Libya. The ideal candidate has documented experience from work in complex humanitarian situations, including assessments and training of national staff, in addition to knowledge of the context in Libya.

Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal is an asset

Position Description:

The purpose of the Humanitarian Access Advisor  is to be responsible for developing localised actors and power mapping and access strategies for NRC Libya operation and  to operationalise the access strategies through access work plans developed in coordination with the Core Competencies specialists.

  • Provide access analysis based on programmatic demands in collaboration with Emergency Team Leader

  • Give guidance and feedback to staff on access analysis. Identify and give relevant trainings on humanitarian access, including negotiations and humanitarian principles in collaboration with Emergency Team Leader

  • Pursue and develop relationships with local partners to identify new humanitarian access opportunities and to maintain existing ones.

  • When relevant, and not only in hard to reach areas, support other departments to develop local partnership, identifying opportunities, gauging chances of success and making sure the partnership adheres to NRC standards.
