The People and Change Group (PCG) based in UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen supports UNOPS to empower people, drive organisational excellence and manage change across the organisation in order to help the organisation deliver its strategic intent.

We work in a dynamic team-based approach and drive to get things done.  We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HR Specialist, Organisational Design, to join the Change Management team and contribute to our work.

Under the overall guidance of Head of Change Management, the HR Specialist, Organisational Design, will contribute to the implementation of the corporate agenda on organisational design.  The role contributes to changes in organisational structures, job roles, and changes to business processes, systems and technology. The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach as well as an international outlook and excellent communication skills.

Functional competencies

Based in the People and Change Group (PCG), you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting PCG in linking Talent Management and Change Management through effective Organisational Development:
  • Refining, developing and implementing the UNOPS organisational development framework and body of knowledge
  • In consultation with UNOPS relevant field/HQs offices, the HR Specialist  OD is responsible for the  development of generic office structures including generic roles, responsibilities, office funding modalities, risk management profiles, office roles
  • Taking talent management requirements and feeding them into office structures
  • Job Design and Job Classification (including job design/classification for senior roles)
  • Management of corporate job descriptions and standards
  • Support linking organisational design and setup to learning and career paths
  • Management responsibility for global talent management initiatives (e.g. leadership, succession planning, competency development)
  • Providing Change Management advice as needed

Education/Experience/Language requirements

  • An advanced degree in Management, Human Resources, Organisational design, international affairs or another related subject.
  • Applicants with a Bachelors degree with additional two years of relevant working experience may also be considered.
  • Professional Change Management certification (i.e. APMG or similar) is an asset.
Experience: 
  • At least five years relevant experience in Organizational Design, e.g. in Organizational Change Management, this experience could also come from an HR or Management Consulting background.
    Experience in the following:
  • Excellent understanding of UN office structures
  • Excellent understanding of job design approaches
  • Experience with UN job classification standards is an advantage
  • Outstanding communication abilities (written and oral)
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrates being a good example in living UN values
  • Understands, appreciates and accommodates business realities
  • Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies;
  • Development and execution of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies
Proficiency with Microsoft Applications including Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to present data in a clear and meaningful way.
Previous experience working in a global or international organisation is an asset.
Language:
Fluency in English required; Fluency in French and / or Spanish is a distinct asset.
