• The main objective of the consultancy is to submit a draft of the 2017 Kenya Country Office Annual Report, in line with the Global 2017 COAR guidance and Regional Office advice (available end September). Working with the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) section, the consultant will also support with the facilitation of the annual review, which will be used to provide input and content for the 2017 KCO COAR. The consultant will also revise the COAR following feedback from ESARO. The consultant will also work with the Communications, Advocacy and Partnership (CAP) Section to submit a public version of the Annual Report.

Objectives

Methodology & Expected Output 

  • Coordinate inputs from UNICEF staff on the 2017 COAR thematic areas and the different components of the annual report and produce the document in line with the guidelines
  • Produce a public version of the Annual Report in consultation with the Communications, Advocacy and Partnership Section.

Timeframe

The consultancy will be for a duration of 2 and a half months from 13th November 2017 to 31st January 2018. 

 Consultancy Requirements

Education

  • A minimum Masters’ Degree in Social Sciences or related subject especially with a focus on planning, monitoring and evaluation, demography and statistics.

Work Experience

 

  • At least 7 years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated  good writing skills, with experience in high-level report-writing, and/or publications in peer reviewed journals;
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing high quality copy (writing sample to be provided);
  • Demonstrated experience of working with data, data interpretation and presentation;
  • Ability to work under pressure, effectively coordinate staff and meet tight deadlines without supervision and compromising quality of work; and
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
