Forum Syd is a civil society member organisation that works with development issues from a rights-based perspective. Our vision is “a just and sustainable world where all people have the power to effect change”. We work with advocacy and capacity building of partner organisations around the world, on issues relating to democracy and human rights, gender equality, and environment and climate change. We mediate grants from Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) to Swedish organisations cooperating with local partners in approximately 70 countries. We have offices in Sweden, Vilnius, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya and Somalia.

The Impact and Quality Assurance Unit, Stockholm

The position of Quality and Compliance Controller will belong to the Impact and Quality Assurance department owning the global processes of grant management, programme development, method and capacity development.  You will join a motivated and high-performing team where there will be opportunity to influence, develop and align Forum Syd’s global work processes.

Are you known for your excellent skills in developing applications, reports as well as for establishing efficient working routines and processes? Then you are the one we are looking for!

Main areas of responsibility

Lead the development of Forum Syd’s applications and reports to Sida Civsam.

Strategically develop and implement Forum Syd’s framework for grant management in general and sub-granting in particular, and monitor the compliance with it.

Ensure that Forum Syd’s framework for grants management aligns with internal and external requirements, including a rights-based approach, Forum Syd’s Theory of Change as well as the principles of Aid Effectiveness.

Contribute to Forum Syd’s work with Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Coordinate and administrate the interrelations of Sida/EU contributions.

Administrate and maintain overview of Forum Syd’s portfolio of donor agreements.   

Qualifications required

Academic degree in Political Sciences, Social Sciences, International Studies or Bachelor degree in Business Administration,  Master of Laws,   or equivalent qualifications obtained in another way.

Minimum 5 years of work experience in the development sector.

Extensive experience with project management.

Very good understanding of development cooperation in general and Sweden’s support to the civil society in particular.

Very good knowledge in development theory and rights based approach to development, as well as gender, environment and conflict sensitivity.

Very good understanding of the principles of Aid and Development Effectiveness, including the funding modalities of programme, project and core support.  

Very good knowledge in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) and Result Based Management (RBM).

Excellent ability to express oneself orally and in writing in Swedish and English.

Advantages

Language skills in Spanish, French, Russian, Somali, Portuguese or Arabic.  

Experience with Sida Civsam grant management.  

International experience with development cooperation.  

This position is a full time permanent position with six months probationary period, starting as soon as possible. This position is located at Forum Syd's head office in

Stockholm, Sweden. Duty travels are part of the position
