UNICEF Country Office conducted Performance Management Workshop for all staff this year in May. The main objectives of the workshop were to introduce new Performance Management Culture, to gain greater awareness of how to achieve UNICEF’s desired culture of performance management in the Country Office, how each colleague can contribute to this culture change and establish actions that would enable the new culture to thrive. One of the observations from the workshop was that Staff would benefit from more confidence in giving and responding to feedback on performance and action point was to explore options for feedback skills training.

Purpose of the Assignment

UNICEF Country Office conducted Performance Management Workshop for all staff this year in May.  The main objectives of the workshop were to introduce new Performance Management Culture, to gain greater awareness of how to achieve UNICEF’s desired culture of performance management in the Country Office, how each colleague can contribute to this culture change and establish actions that would enable the new culture to thrive.

One of the observations from the workshop was that Staff would benefit from more confidence in giving and responding to feedback on performance and action point was to explore options for feedback skills training.  

All UNICEF Azerbaijan staff (20 participants) will attend training on “How to give an effective feedback” using the SBI (Situation-Behavior-Impact) feedback model. Main language of the training will be English and if needed Azerbaijani translation support will be provided for colleagues with a less developed command of English.

Key objectives, as agreed with the HR partner are: 

  1. To enhance the capacity of supervisors/supervisee on quality feedback process.
  2. To learn and practice a SBI model for giving and receiving feedback
  3. To increase the capacity of staff on active feedback process

  Assignment Tasks

The contractor will design and lead the facilitation of the one day “How to give an effective feedback” training. This will include drafting interactive training module, setting out the training programme, facilitating training and providing feedback to Country Office management on any observations of staff engagement and interaction during the training.

Methodology for implementation of the training;

Detailed training programme;

Knowledge assessment tools (if applicable);

Training evaluation tool/template;

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  1. At least five years proven experience in leading and facilitating trainings/coaching or similar exercises, preferably including for not-for-profit clients. Contact details of clients with whom the contractor has worked in the last two years should be included in any submission of interest for this assignment.
  2. Proven experience is assessing strengths and weaknesses in teams and making recommendations on areas requiring further attention by clients.
  3. Knowledge or experience of working in international development contexts, including understanding of the UN system. Prior recent experience of working with UNICEF Country Offices would be a distinct asset.
  4. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills. Fluency in English and Azerbaijani languages.

Interested contractors should submit the following documents:

  1. Technical proposal. Brief outline of the main methodology proposed to deliver the training as set out above. Please include details of your technical approach (e.g. interactive sessions, role-plays, best practices etc.) that you believe would support the achievement of the planned objectives, and how they would contribute to the successful achievement of the objectives.
  2. Proposed budget for the training
  3. Professional resume or similar profile detailing qualifications and summary experience of the proposed facilitator In the case of the contractor submitting a proposal as a registered company, a copy of your company registration certificate.
  4. Reference of previous relevant work.
  5. Samples of similar work
