Senior Coordinator, OUR UNICEF Office, P-6, New York, USA

New York City (United States of America)

For every child, dedication. With the expansion of new communication technologies and the growth of social media, UNICEF has a tremendous opportunity, in both programme and donor countries, to tap into increased citizen engagement. A new initiative – OUR UNICEF – can bring millions of volunteers into the organization. They should see themselves not only as offering support for UNICEF, but as being part of UNICEF. Millions of people all over the world already support UNICEF. They raise money, campaign and, in some countries, volunteer to help children in various ways. With OUR UNICEF, a vibrant expanded group of UNICEF volunteers will take action for children by volunteering their time and experience through: Service activities (from participating in environmental conservation efforts to helping with language learning); Organizing events and volunteer activities or projects; Speaking about issues for children in their communities, and advocacy for children. These actions, pursued locally, nationally and globally, will move the organization to a broader level of citizen engagement. OUR UNICEF will help the organization move even closer to the communities UNICEF serves and dramatically expand UNICEF’s reach in both programme and National Committee countries.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

For every child, dedication.
