Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified who can fit the position of Aromatic Plant Trainer in Akkar.
About the job
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Teach beneficiaries best practices in aromatic plant planting, cultivation and care
• Instruct on how to use each aromatic plant to produce foods, oils, etc. and provide hands-on demonstrations in as much as resources allow
• Develop a basic curriculum for the informal course
• Be able to effectively teach in an informal setting
• Efficient coordination with relevant staff for regular feedback and reporting
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to train forty men and women participants in the cultivation and use of aromatic plants and herbs such as thyme, lavender, rosemary, and basil. The training will be presented at the planting work site.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
• At least 2-3 years experience in producing aromatic plant products(experience in training on this is preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of the cultivation, harvesting, and productive use of aromatic plants and herbs
• Relevant university or technical education
• Business experience with aromatic plants preferred
• Effective class management and conflict resolution skills
• Relevant university or technical education (significant experience can be substituted)
Desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Well organized and flexible
• Strong ability to provide efficient training
• Arabic (Native)

Contract length: till the end of November 2017
Level: 25$/hour, max. 32hr/month
