Purpose of the Position

Under the general supervision of the Senior Administration Assistant, provide regular official transportation to the South Africa Country Office Representative and other UNICEF high profile officials; also assist the office implement the programme by providing transport for the office to undertake official duties. Provide collection and delivery services.

Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks

  • Drives office vehicles for the transport of the Representative and other authorized personnel, collection and delivery of mail, documents and other items.
  • Meets VIP officials at the airport and assist with hotel check and facilitates immigration and custom formalities.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery brakes and tyres, and informs supervisor when vehicle is due for service and upkeep the assigned vehicle clean.
  • Logs official trips, daily mileage, assist with scheduling of drivers for the trips within.
  • Ensures that steps required by rules and regulations are followed in the event of an accident.
  • Performs any other duties as required

Education:

Completion of secondary education.

Valid driver’s license, knowledge of driving rules and regulations of the country.

Experience:

Five year’s work experience as a driver.

Safe driving record.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the local language and the working language of the duty station.
