The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

Country Office Background

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) established its presence in Jordan in November 2012 in response to the conflict in Syria and resulting refugee influx. NRC Jordan currently employs over 500 national staff in Jordan is now one of the largest INGOs in the country. In 2016 the Country Office continues to focus on provision of protection, assistance and access to essential services for vulnerable Syrian refugees in formal camps and host communities. NRC strives to combine its programmatic activities with evidenced-based advocacy work focused on policy change and strong external communications and media engagement and. The Country Office also works to ensure safe and integrated programming through ensuring protection is effectively mainstreaming across all programming.

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a candidate who has minimum 3 years’ experience in an international NGO preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting, specifically including M&E capacity and systems development, with a university degree in social sciences, economics, or any relevant field. They also have good information management and data analysis skills, and the ability to interpret and present data in in a simplified, clear way.

They are a creative thinker, with a proven record of integrating new ideas and approaches into their work.

Some knowledge of the context in Jordan and Arabic language are an advantage.

Position Description:

The M&E Coordinator will work with the M&E manager in ensuring that reports produced by the unit is of high quality and can be shared internally and externally to inform decision makings. Furthermore, the Coordinator ensures that M&E is established as a technical unit that offers relevant trainings to program staff and promotes high quality assessment, evaluation and study designs.

Specific responsibilities related to this position include:

  • Lead the documentation and sharing of M&E reports that facilitate evidence-based decision-making, both internally within NRC Jordan and externally with partners and donors.
  • Contribute to the development of the country office’s M&E framework
  • Implement guidance and frameworks for CO procedures, policies and processes
