By providing financial and technical support to projects that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people's well-being and livelihoods, SGP demonstrates that community action can maintain the fine balance between human needs and environmental imperatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

The major responsibility in the team is to support The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) mainly focusing on (60%~70% of the intern’s time):

•Translation and proof reading for SGP related documents;

•Project information updating (database and website);

•Maintaining close relationship with NGO partners via social media and campaigns;

•Summarizing the good practices from 71 completed and on-going projects;

•Drafting meeting minutes

•Ad hoc assignments

Other tasks to support UNDP Environment & Energy Team in general (30%~40% of the intern’s time):

•Translation and interpretation;

•Taking meeting notes

•Supporting workshop/training organization;

•Knowledge management (contributing to UNDP Social Media by summarizing the events and missions within E&E team)

•Project M&E

•Ad hoc assignments

Competencies

  • Fluency in English and Chinese
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems
  • General understanding of NGO and international development issues.

Master degree in environment or international development
