DHR established a case management function in mid 2016 to support the implementation of performance reform. The function is embedded in the Leadership (LEAD) Team. Under the overall guidance of the HR Manager leading the Case Management function, the HR Specialist (Case Management) is responsible for providing advice and support to managers/supervisors on addressing performance and people management issues in the organization. S/he will be part of the LEAD Team and work closely with various work units in DHR as well as with the global HR system.

In an effort to measurably improve UNICEF's ability to deliver better results for children, and to also support the Human Resources transformation strategy, the Division of Human Resources (DHR) is embarking on a transformational process in a number of key areas, including a robust performance management, and a fast and effective talent acquisition, management and recruitment. DHR will partner with line managers and share ownership and accountability for people management on the basis of clearly defined roles and responsibilities. DHR client services will be more direct, more consistent and better resourced across all regions and countries.

How can you make a difference?

This will include:

  • Advising managers on performance and people management issues
  • Monitoring and reporting on cases
  • Contributing to strengthening case management function

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in Management, Administration, Social Sciences or a relevant field.
    *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, or administration/operations, or related areas.
  • Experience in dealing with confidential issues and/or complex/sensitive cases relating to performance and people management.
  • Experience in the UN system is an advantage.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and coordinate across diverse and global teams. Strong focus on solutions.
  • Strong people skills and communication skills.
  • Consistent achievement of high-level results; management and delivery of projects on-time and on-budget; high standards for work quality.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French and/or Spanish is an asset.
