UNICEF Global Shared Services Centre’s Human Resources Administration Section is seeking individual consultants to provide short-term HR Administration project support to partake in the daily activities or administering benefits and entitlements of UNICEF staff globally, and to assist in various components of ongoing HR projects related to data verification and cleansing.

UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Global Shared Services Centre’s Human Resources Administration Section is seeking individual consultants to provide short-term HR Administration project support to partake in the daily activities or administering benefits and entitlements of UNICEF staff globally, and to assist in various components of ongoing HR projects related to data verification and cleansing.

This will involve:

1. Monitor UNICEF staff personnel records
• Perform necessary administrative actions on contractual status, entitlements, etc.
• Draft correspondence to follow up on staff contractual status and request recommendations
• Respond to routine queries on contractual status and benefits and entitlements of staff members.

2. Maintain computerized reporting system for Human Resources Processes and data
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of administrative actions
• Update reporting system with status changes (e.g. contractual status, marriage status)
• Based on instructions and guidelines, update HR and staff related data in reporting system as part of a data cleansing exercise
• Liaise with, and follow up with country offices and divisions to obtain the required information for the data cleansing where necessary

3. Prepare routine Human Resources related documents.
• Draft standard employment or entitlement verification documents as requested
• Participate in developing standard templates or materials for HR processes

As an advocate for every child, you will have…

• Completed secondary degree (i.e. high school diploma).
• University degree or equivalent, particularly in the areas of business administration and/or human resources is an asset.
• Previous experience in human resources, office, and administrative support or in related fields.
• Knowledge of, and previous experience in using computer including standard office package (e.g. Microsoft Office) is required.
• Prior work experience (particularly in human resources) with an international organization/public sector is an asset.
• Previous experience of shared services/business support centre, including private sector, is an asset.
• Previous experience with ERP system, especially SAP, is an asset.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
• Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is desirable.

Location and Duration

• These consultancies will be performed on UNICEF Premises in Budapest, Hungary.
• The anticipated duration of these assignments is 7 months.
• Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.  Applicants should be available to start by November 2017. 

Terms and conditions of the assignment

This announcement aims to seek interested and qualified candidates to support in UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre HR Administration section for short-term project support. Through this announcement, several candidates may be engaged to partake in these assignments and candidates will be assigned to the areas of work as deemed suitable by GSSC UNICEF.

Successful candidates will be engaged with UNICEF as individual consultants. Individual consultants are not staff members of UNICEF and are considered as external candidates when applying for UNICEF vacancies during, or after engagement in this short-term assignment. Individual consultants will receive remuneration for the verified output (i.e. days worked) and will not be eligible to participate in UNICEF’s social security benefits such as insurance, pension, paid sick leave or annual leave.  

Monthly remuneration for these assignments may range from HUF 459,666 to HUF 559,083, which will be determined by GSSC UNICEF based on the complexity of the work assignment. 

UNICEF undertakes no liability for taxes, duty or other contribution payable by the consultant on payments made under this contract.
