Building on its successful Because I am a Girl initiative, Plan International is seeking support to strengthen its global external engagement work throughout 2018, with a particular focus on supporting young women and girls as leaders, advocates and activists. As part of our new global strategy ‘100 million reasons’ and inspired by our successful girls ‘takeover’ initiative, now in its second year, Plan International is looking to scale up its influencing agenda to drive support and investment in young people working to ensure girls everywhere learn, lead, decide and thrive.
Plan International requires additional support and expertise from November 2017 until October 2018 to deliver key elements of an external engagement strategic plan, including assets to strengthen our campaign identity, influencer engagement and strategic positioning at the global level. In addition, this role will also lead the duration and delivery of our the second global event on young women and girls’ leadership taking place on the International Day of the Girl, and aligning to Plan International’s successful girls takeover initiative.
Lead delivery of strategic elements and assets to advance our global girls rights campaign identity
Working with external and internal stakeholders to deliver by April 2018 a set of creative assets, key influencer engagement and strategic communications targets and results for campaign, brief guidance to Plan International organization on leveraging these assets in range of contexts.
IDG Global Girls Leadership Summit
Working with internal and external stakeholders, lead creative and external engagement elements (influencer and partner engagement, PR and strategic communications) to ensure successful Girl Leadership Summit on or around October 11 2018 that grows the event from previous years and lays foundation for even larger successor event in 2019.
Provide advice on policy-political framing for event/ call to actions.
Work Plan and arrangements
The consultant will be expected as a first step to identify and agree with Plan International a set of concrete sub-deliverables within each objective. This will form the basis of a work plan which the consultant will be expected to deliver.
The consultant will report to the Head of Global Campaigns based in Plan International Headquarters
The consultant will be supported by a junior external engagement officer however this role is managed by the Head of Global Campaigns.
The consultant will ideally be based near Woking, UK or Brussels Belgium
Expected duration and number of days:
The consultancy is expected to commence the week of November 13 and conclude mid October 2018 (to be agreed between consultant and Plan International).
The consultant should provide an estimated breakdown of days required for each objective/deliverable, however the maximum number of days expected will be 120
Plan International envisages offering 350 EUR per day for delivery of this project, depending on experience and profile of consultant.
