The incumbent will will focus on achieving equitable outcomes in nutrition and ending preventable deaths associated with undernutrition through scaling up high-impact evidenced-based nutrition interventions, such as infant and young child feeding, and treatment of severe acute malnutrition as well as providing humanitarian nutrition assistance to displaced population and other vulnerable populations affected by emergencies in Rakhine State

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent will provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programs/projects in Rakhine within the Country Program from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate program development, implementation, and program progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting of results.

                                                                                     

The key expected result of the position:-

  • Provide technical support for UNICEF humanitarian and development nutrition interventions in Rakhine.
  • Provide technical support for nutrition sub-cluster information management and coordination.

  1. Support to UNICEF nutrition program development and planning;
  2. Program management, monitoring and delivery of results;
  3. Technical and operational support to program implementation;
  4. Networking,  partnership building and nutrition sub-sector coordination;
  5. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology or other health related science field is required. A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with two (2) additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management and/or in relevant areas of maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care at the international level and/or in Myanmar is required.  Experience outlined in the key functions above would be prioritized.
  • Experience in health/nutrition program/project development in UN system agency or Non-Government organization is an asset.
  • Background/familiarity with Emergency (preparedness and response) and the IASC Cluster approach is an asset. 
  • Experience in Rakhine an asset. Knowledge of local languages an asset. 

Fluency in Myanmar and English.
