Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a MEAL Co-ordinator, who will play a key role towards the delivery of IRW’s vision to empower marginalised people with a strong voice and ability to transform their lives. The role will lead on the design, delivery, and reporting of selected projects and country office evaluations, ensuring that final reporting is robust enough to support future decision making, as well as providing credible information on the impact of the organisation’s work. This responsibility will provide extensive opportunity for global travel. The role will contribute towards the development and implementation of an evidence-base of global knowledge, best practice, and lessons-learned, including their dissemination across the IR family. Part of this will also include responsibility for ensuring that all agreed actions from evaluations are regularly reviewed to ensure they are implemented and signed off. The role will also support the mainstreaming of MEAL into global programmes operations and as part of which there will be opportunities to provide training globally, where required. This would include the post-holder working on the implementation of technological solutions to improve the quality of reporting and data provided.

It is essential that the candidate has at least a 2:1 at undergraduate level, or master’s degree, in a related subject such as social sciences or international development; or a recognised relevant professional qualification in monitoring & evaluation; or qualified through experience. Coupled with proven analytical ability, both qualitative and quantitative, including ability to process large amounts of information and to present data in creative and engaging ways, s/he is required to have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build strong and effective working relationships, and bringing people together to complete tasks in a timely manner. Field and programmes experience, especially in the area of M&E is considered to be desirable for this role. The candidate must have ability, motivation, and willingness to travel in the UK; and internationally for upto 40% of the year, including to humanitarian and conflict zones.
