Background and purpose
Yemen is caught in the on-going conflict and is facing severe food insecurity. DRC is carrying out a food security and livelihood programme to vulnerable host/IDP families in Abyan Governorate. The proposed livelihood interventions will be implemented by DRC directly in close collaboration with local authorities and communities.
Key responsibilities
The main functions of the Livelihood Officer involve;
Working closely with FSL Project Manager, the team, partners, local authorities and community representatives to plan, organize, account, conclude and document programme interventions including identifying and selecting targeted villages and host/IDP households; supervising and assisting livelihood Assistants (LAs) in assigned areas; Sensitizing, mobilizing, training, and strengthening Community Committees to verify eligible households to receive supports/assistance; Working closely with FSL Team and procurement and Logistic Team to prepare plans, bidding docs and organize delivery to sites on scheduled dates and locations; Being fully responsible for accurately documenting all recipient households receiving aid; Assisting Monitoring and Reporting Assistant (M&RA) to compile, summarize, and analyze distribution and post-distribution information; Attending other related functions as and when assigned by his PM.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor Degree in any relevant discipline;
Proficient in English & Arabic;
At least 2 years work experience in similar position;
Excellent familiarity to livelihood programmes, supporting IDPs and vulnerable households;
Excellent planning, coordination and communication skills;
Excellent skills in MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Ability/willingness to undertake field visits and be a team player;
