About the job:

 

 

DDG seeks a competent and results oriented national Deputy Program Manager to support DDG’s Head of Program/Program Manager in the overall support and oversight of the DDG Mine Action Program in Afghanistan. The Deputy Program Manager will work closely with DDG’s Technical Advisors and support the planning and implementation of DDG’s operational and growth plans, as well as the adherence to DDG’s SOPs and international and Afghanistan Mine Action Standards (IMAS and AMAS), and support the capacities of DDG’s national capacities.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • The Deputy Program Manager is responsible for the Management, planning and execution of all DDG operations in demining, EOD, Survey and MRE operations in the country.
  • Has oversight DDG Operations Departments and regional offices.
  • Operational Reporting both internal and external in compliance with donors’ commitment and program requirements.
  • Monitors program deliveries and monthly operational statistics and conduct regular operational analysis of operations to inform task selection, impact monitoring and quality management plans
  • Provides supervision and guidance to DDG Senior Technical staff, to ensure adherence to SOPs, Quality Management of Operations and timely delivery of Program Outputs.
  • Closely monitors the security situation across the country along with the Program Manager, and ensures compliance with safety instructions in the field. The changing security situation within the relevant areas of operation requires continuous attention by the Deputy Program Manager, who shall share information on any changes in the security to DDG Head of Program, DRC Country Director, and the security department and relevant senior staff and the Operations Department including the relevant regional area of operation and maintains a work discipline and adapt work plans accordingly.
 
 

About you

 

 

To be successful in this role you must have:

 

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • At least ten years’ experience in the mine action program (including experience in Clearance, EOD, MRE, Survey and/or MDU operation).
  • At least six years’ experience in senior managerial level.
  • Have to be qualified EOD IMAS level-3
  • Good knowledge for quality management
  • Good knowledge for logistic, Finance and HR
  • Good knowledge in monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent reporting skills in both English and local language (Dari and/or Pashto)

 

Education:

 

  • University degree in relevant discipline.
  • Relevant military experience or qualifications will be accounted for as well.

 

 

Languages:

 

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dari and/or Pashtu

We offer:

 

  •  DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a 6-month contract starting from 1 December 2017 till 31 May 2018, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
  • Salary and conditions will be in accordance with DRC-DDG’s Terms of Employment for national staff. This position will be placed at salary Grade B, level 4, basic 1,958 USD.
