Job Purpose

The Communications and Resource Mobilization Analyst is responsible for leading and coordinating the implementation of activities on advocacy, resource mobilization and communication in support of effective implementation of the UNFPA Country Programme in line with the Delivering as One (DaO) approach.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

  • Master’s degree in Communications or other related fields;

Work Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience, either/or but preferably both, in communications and resource mobilization, of which at least two years should be in a development context;
  • Good knowledge of media and public relations;
  • Excellent oral and written communications, and editing skills in English;
  • Keen understanding of Mauritania culture, history, and political contexts;
  • Familiarity with communications approaches for planning, executing, and monitoring communications strategies;
  • Excellent computer/information systems skills; familiarity with common office software MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of image processing software and computer graphics is desired;
  • A thorough understanding of the UN system in general, and especially UNFPA's mandate; policies and operations, as well as the current development topics is an advantage.

Language(s):

  • Fluency in French and mastery of English is required.
  • Arabic is an asset.
