Under the supervision of the ICT Officer, to provide day-to-day technical user support for using the information technology systems for both offices (the Regional Office and the Senegal CO). Also, the incumbent should assist with performing in-house preventive maintenance and supporting workshops and meetings.

Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of the ICT Officer, to provide day-to-day technical user support for using the information technology systems for both offices (the Regional Office and the Senegal CO). Also, the incumbent should assist with performing in-house preventive maintenance and supporting workshops and meetings.

 Key Expected Results

 

Quick response to user requests for support, effective preventive maintenance, type and quantity of spares to maintain in stock, elimination of bottlenecks, etc…:

  • Can impact directly on the entire office through loss of data, lengthy downtime, and/or loss of expensive equipment.
  • Can cause staff to miss deadlines through inability to use the office’s information systems, loss of data, create excessive workload to re-enter data, late payments to vendors, and/or cause unnecessary expense to the office.

 Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks

  •  Provide technical support for users on the office’s ICT equipment, including the Desktops, Laptops, Smartphones, Tablets, Printers, etc...
  • Assist with the implementation of a technical preventive maintenance schedule to ensure continuous operation of equipment and maximum lifetime.
  • Assist with on-site technical training and documentation to all staff on the use of office applications and on how to properly care for the ICT equipment that is under their custody.
  • As directed by the Supervisor, provide technical support for the Office’s workshops and meetings.
  • Assist with the deployment of new and existing ICT equipment, including the installation of all standard software and LAN/WiFi connections.

 Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Education: Completion of secondary education, supplemented by formal training in computer science or a related field. 

Experience: Five years progressively responsible experience in computer information management work, including data processing applications, database, multi-user network, hardware/software installation, user assistance and end-user documentation in support of office computerization.

Language Requirements: Fluency in French, good working knowledge in English
