The Opportunity:

Plan International has a growing portfolio of Cash and Markets Programming (CMP) of more than USD$45 Million at the end of Financial Year 2017.

As Deployable Cash and Markets in Emergencies Specialist you will provide leadership at the county office level in the implementation of CMP to ensure an adequate beneficiary targeting and achieve the intended outcomes.

You will also provide technical advice in designing, implementation and monitoring of cash and market based programmes in emergencies and recovery phases addressing the specific needs of young/ adolescent girls and young women.

Dimensions of the Role

  • The post-holder may have budget responsibility when on deployment.
  • The post holder will deploy to Plan International Country Offices, sometimes at short notice, to provide technical support on cash and markets programming

Do you have what it takes?

In order to succeed in this role you will require significant experience in planning, design and implementation of humanitarian programmes.

Demonstrable experience in design, implementation and evaluation of in-kind food, cash/voucher and market based programming.

Knowledge of international humanitarian standards and codes of conduct, and extensive understanding of Social Safety Nets, Livelihoods and associated methodologies.

Significant experience of working in in humanitarian settings in a range of contexts (eg refugee, conflict, rapid onset)

Excellent skills in writing funding submissions and donor reports.

Good working knowledge of key humanitarian donors, for example WFP, USAID, EU, DFAT, CIDA, DFID, ECHO.

Skills in a 2nd language are desirable (French, Spanish, Portuguese,)

Type of Role: Permanent position

Location: Ideally based within International Headquarters, Woking UK. Possibility to be based in internationally where we have a country operation. Ability to travel is also required

Salary: Circa £45,000.00 per annum plus benefits
