We are looking for a highly qualified 2 Livelihoods Officers one for Irbid and one for Mafraq, will be responsible for coordinating and directly implementing DRC’s livelihood activities under GIZ funding in Irbid and Mafraq. The individual will report directly to the Livelihoods senior officer.  
 
 
Who are we? 
 
DRC is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. With the vision that no displaced person must be in want of help to find protection and durable solutions, DRC provides assistance and protection to conflict-affected in many of the major conflicts in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The assistance can consist of relief and other humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and support to returning home, and the promotion of durable solutions. 
 
About the Job 
 
In Irbid and Mafraq governorates, DRC is implementing a project funded by GIZ to support its activities under the Waste to Positive Energy Program. This will include CfW protection monitoring as well as employability trainings and job referral services through DRC’s community centers in Irbid and Mafraq. 
 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
 
• Coordinate directly with the livelihood senior officer and field teams for the effective implementation of all livelihood-related activities; 
• Contribute to the design and lead the implementation of a market analysis to identify priority sectors for refugee and Jordanian employment, including employer preference for soft and hard skills; 
• Identify private sector actors to facilitate specialized skill training in key sectors; 
• Establish an employer referral network within Irbid and Mafraq for job referrals and subsidized placements; 
• Co-design employability trainings in coordination with the technical unit and the Training Assistant; 
• Contribute to the development of tools and processes used for livelihood activities in the community center; 
• Facilitate the distribution of conditional livelihood support grants to eligible applicants; 
• Coordinate with the broader technical unit in Jordan to share best practices and lessons learned; 
• Facilitate the work permit allocation process in coordination with private sector sponsors and the Directorate of Labour; 
• Co-coordinate the launch of assessments, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions on livelihoods; 
• Oversee the mapping of beneficiary skills in the community center; 
• Assist in the design and translation of informative materials as needed, including presentations, handouts, and exercises; 
• Ensure livelihood activities are implemented in a way that meets or exceeds standards set by DRC; 
• Support in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation efforts with DRC’s Monitoring and Evaluation assistants as needed; 
• Support continual improvement of DRC’s livelihood activities by capturing and sharing key challenges, articulating obstacles and proposed solutions, and identifying success stories to highlight  
• Ensure the application of DRC Code of Conduct and DRC Policies and Procedures. 
 
 
About you 
 
To be successful in this role you must have:  
 
Qualifications/ experience:  
• Bachelor degree in relevant area (e.g. economics, development studies, Business, IT,) 
• Ability to work effectively as an integral part of multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and to work with a wide range of government and community counterparts, and other actors; 
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to foster communication and negotiation among local stakeholders; 
• Strong organizational and time management skills; 
• High integrity and willingness to conduct her/himself transparently and open to scrutiny; 
• Genuine care and respect for needs of others, particularly vulnerable populations; 
• Strong belief in empowering marginalized and disenfranchised people; 
• The ability to prioritize competing demands. 
• Computer skills (Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint and Outlook). 
• Past work experience of 1 year with a local or international NGO; 
• Arabic (fluent) with excellent verbal communication skills.  
• English (very good) in written and spoken

We offer 
 
DRC will offer the successful applicant a Six months including three month as probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work As Soon As Possible and be willing and able to work in North one for Mafraq and one for Irbid -Jordan.
