Internship Programme - Administration Intern (Three months - for Afghan Nationals Only), Kabul - Afghanistan

Under the supervision of Administrative Travel Officer, the Intern will be assigned to support the travel unit in the day to day and routine activities. This internship opportunity will as well provide opportunity to an individual to explore interest and develop professional skills and competencies.

Purpose of the internship:

Under the supervision of Administrative Travel Officer, the Intern will be assigned to support the travel unit in the day to day and routine activities. This internship opportunity will as well provide opportunity to an individual to explore interest and develop professional skills and competencies. Following are list of functions to be performed by the intern:

  • Compile and record the information relevant to the Identification Cards (ID), United Nations Laissez-Passer (UNLP), Afghan and Indian Visas of UNICEF staff (Kabul,  Zonal and outpost offices);
  • Scan and upload UNICEF staffs’ travel documents to the online travel tracker and make sure that the information is correct and accurate;
  • Support the travel unit in the compilation and uploading of information in the UNICEF fleet management system;
  • Support the travel unit in updating day to day activities tracker;
  • Support the travel unit in updating and re-organizing of travel unit filing system;
  • Perform daily travel unit tasks which will contribute to the intern learning and knowledge in the area of travel and administration.

Qualifications:  

  • Current enrolment in, or recent graduation from an undergraduate or master’s programme within the last two years in computer science, business or public administration, social sciences or any related field.  

Language and Computer Skills:

  • Fluency in English language is required for reading, writing, speaking and translation
  • Fluency in Dari or Pashto is required for reading, writing, speaking and translation
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.

Experience:

  • One year of work experience in the field of IT/Data Entry would be an added value.

Conditions of Intern:

  • Expenses: Please note that Internships at UNICEF are unpaid. However a small stipend may be available inclusive of transport cost.
  • Health/Medical insurance: Intern is required to hold valid health/accident insurance. UNICEF accepts no responsibilities for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the internship whether on or off UNICEF premises.
  • Employment: There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.
