As part of the Planning and Monitoring team at UNICEF Cox’s Bazaar Field Office, the position will assist and provide support to the program sections in undertaking regular field monitoring to inform the management about the quality of UNICEF’s humanitarian response. The position will also be responsible to maintain progress monitoring database for situation/progress reporting to UNICEF, donors and the government as and when required.

PURPOSE

As part of the Planning and Monitoring team at UNICEF Cox’s Bazaar Field Office, the position will assist and provide support to the program sections in undertaking regular field monitoring to inform the management about the quality of UNICEF’s humanitarian response. The position will also be responsible to maintain progress monitoring database for situation/progress reporting to UNICEF, donors and the government as and when required.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

The incumbent will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Support regular field monitoring of UNICEF humanitarian response to Rohingya crisis in Cox Bazar, i.e., data collection from the service points (nutrition, health, WASH, child protection, and education) through Key Informant Interviews (KII); verification of partners reporting; recording personal observations in the field; and conducting Focus Group Discussion with the affected populations.
  • Ensure timely data entry with support from data/information management assistant, generate results table and compile findings for field periodic field monitoring report.
  • Work closely with the programme sections to maintain up-to-date database of humanitarian response activity tracker and humanitarian performance monitoring result table feeding into various donors reports and updates and periodic Situation Report (SitRep) of UNICEF.
  • Any additional tasks that may be assigned to him/her related to the emergency response as agreed by the management.

To qualify as a/an [champion or advocate] for every child you will have…

  • Education:    

    University degree in Economics; Development Studies; Statistics; Population Sciences/Demography; International Relations; and Sociology or Anthropology is required.

    Experience:   

    2-3 years professional experience of planning, monitoring, reporting or information management with recognized national/international NGOs or UN system. Experience in humanitarian context in Bangladesh will be preferred.

    Language Requirements:     

    Fluency in English is required.  Knowledge of local language is an asset
