The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors. NRC has been operating in Greece since mid-October 2015, directly assisting over 70,000 refugees and migrants, working together with the Greek authorities, humanitarian actors and volunteers.

NRC Greece is looking for a HR Officer. Are you a passionate HR professional, self – starter with at least 2 years of experience, a strong desire to develop your HR generalist skills and career? Then we are looking forward to hearing from you.

Job description

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated support HR portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the HR function
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders
  • Assist in submitting accurate payroll
  • Ensure recruitment/new hire process of assigned positions
  • Providing day to day advice and HR guidance to staff and line managers
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Qualifications

  • Experience from working as an HR Officer
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of the Greek HR standards and labour law
  • Knowledge of the Greek language
  • Experience with start-up, structuring, exit
