Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Operations in Juba, the direct supervision of the Head of Sub-Office in Wau, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily coordination and management of IOM’s humanitarian response in the Greater Bahr el Ghazal region, ensuring proper coordination between the various technical line managers, support units and the technical field staff themselves.

S/he will represent IOM in external forums related to humanitarian activities in general, including but not limited to the weekly Operational Working Group. S/he will also perform as ES/NFI State focal point.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Serves as overall program coordinator for IOM’s humanitarian response in the Greater Bahr el Ghazal region.

2. Coordinate all IOM humanitarian activities with Resource Management Units, Technical Line Managers and the relevant external partners to ensure the timely and efficient deployment of RRTs.

5. Travel to field locations to provide support as required.

6. In collaboration with the Program Support Unit, ensure adequate monitoring and reporting of all humanitarian activities.

7. Provide regular reporting to Head of Operations and Chief of Mission as requested. 8. Perform as ES/NFI Cluster State focal point, including facilitating cluster meetings, information sharing, coordination of core pipeline needs at State level and facilitating planning and coordination for cluster response and reporting at State level.

9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience. Experience

maintain working relations with government counterparts, UN agencies;

• Experience working with National NGO partners to build their capacity to influence the development of civil society in South Sudan;

• Knowledge and experience of UNDSS procedures an advantage.

Languages

Fluency in English is required.
