Scope of Work To develop a training module for salt growers, the consultant will responsible to visit field understanding and gaps in the technology used by salt growers in Bangladesh. Under this scope of work consultant will developed training modules for the salt growers based on the gaps identified and the technology used in India learnt by visiting team. The consultant will also be responsible to facilitate training program for the grower with support from a local consultant who has expertise on Bangladesh salt field and also from CIDD project office. UNICEF will support to organize training program for the salt growers. The specific tasks for this assignment will be: • Assessment of crude salt cultivation and preservation technics in Bangladesh during salt cultivation season during December-January • Submit design of a feasible technology for good quality crud salt production, storage and iodization • Develop a training module for salt growers • Train to the salt workers on the new technology • Provide technical support to the GOB and salt growers/millers association to ensure quality crude salt production and iodization

  • Assessment of crude salt cultivation and preservation technics in Bangladesh during salt cultivation season during December-January
  • Submit design of a feasible technology for good quality crud salt production, storage and iodization
  • Develop a training module for salt growers
  • Train to the salt workers on the new technology 
  • Provide technical support to the GOB and salt growers/millers association to ensure quality crude salt production and iodization

Major Tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Assessment of crude salt cultivation and preservation technics in Bangladesh during salt cultivation season
  2. Submit design of a feasible technology for good quality crud salt production, storage and iodization.
  3. Present design and facilitate discussion for finalization of design on new technology
  4. Develop a training module for salt growers
  5. Train to the salt workers on the new technology
  6. Provide technical support to the GOB and salt growers/millers association to ensure quality crude salt production and iodization

Qualifications (Education, Work Experience, Special skills and/or knowledge, Competencies required for the assignment):

Education qualification:

  • Post graduate degree in Chemistry or chemical Engineering graduate.

Experiences:

  1. At least 15 years experiences in monitoring salt production, storage, dispatch & organizing/conducting training program for improving quality of raw salt and salt iodization in different country.
  2. Received formal training in Salt Technology
  3. Experiences to work with UN Organization
