Under the general guidance of the Health and Nutrition Specialist, the Procurement Service Officer is accountable for providing technical support and assistance in all stages of programming related to effective procurement services,(PS) includes planning, quantification/forecasting, financing, procurement execution, warehousing, distribution, supply chain monitoring, monitoring and evaluation of results, with required follow up with the Government counterparts and Supply division. This includes support to the country programme to: a) manage ongoing and new PS transactions in collaboration with government partners and UNICEF Supply Division (SD), Copenhagen; b) secure an effective and well co-coordinated channel of communication, by providing regular delivery status updates, minutes of meetings and consultations, regular and ad-hoc reports, as requested; c) monitor overall PS transactions and facilitate an efficient and effective PS workflow, by addressing the bottlenecks and gaps and improving the processes, in close coordination with the Procurement Service in SD and national counterparts.. This may encompass both direct programme work with government and civil society partners as well as linkages and support to health, immunization, nutrition, early childhood development, education child protection and child rights monitoring priorities in terms of procurement and programme supplies.

1. Manages ongoing and new PS transactions in collaboration with GVT partners and UNICEF Supply Division (SD), Copenhagen;
2. Facilitates and advocates for introduction of new items for PS with GVT partners and ECARO
3. Secures an effective and well co-coordinated channel of communication, by providing regular delivery status updates, minutes of meetings and consultations, regular and ad-hoc reports, as requested.
4. Monitors overall PS transactions and facilitates an efficient and effective PS/Supply workflow, by addressing the bottlenecks and gaps and improving the processes, in close coordination with Procurement Service in SD and national counterparts.
5. In addition to country-specific functions, serves as a focal point/knowledge hub for PS-related activities not only in the country, but also in the Central Asia sub-region.
