The Green Climate Fund (“GCF”) is a new multilateral fund created to make a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change.

GCF will contribute to the achievement of the ultimate objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In the context of sustainable development, GCF will promote the paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change, taking into account the needs of those developing countries particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.

GCF is governed by a Board, composed of an equal representation of developed and developing countries. The Fund is operated by an independent Secretariat headed by an Executive Director. GCF will pursue a country-driven approach in its operations.

The Fund seeks to recruit a Senior Recruitment Consultant to join its team at its headquarters in Songdo, Republic of Korea, for a period of 5 months as maternity cover.


Role

Under the supervision of the Head of HR, the Senior Recruitment Consultant will manage end-to-end multiple, recruitment processes in a timely and effective way, ensuring that diverse qualified and highly competent candidates are presented for the GCF selection process.


Duties and responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Head of HR, the Senior Recruitment Consultant will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Efficiently carrying out the Fund’s recruitment plan for the duration of the maternity cover;

• Developing clear and accurate job descriptions, launching vacancy adverts internally and externally and/or supporting the procurement of the services of recruitment firms;

• Proactivelymanagingtherecruitment process so that it meets the required standards of quality, efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness;

• Sitting in hiring panels as the HR representative, and ensuring that interviews and selection adhere to GCF HR Guidelines;

• Ensuring completion of correct documentation and approvals;

• Working closely with candidates to finalize recruitments to acceptance of offer;

• Managing the onboarding and orientation of the new staff member;

• Preparing reports on recruitment numbers and analyses;

• Administering and scoring candidate assessments, including SHL and in-house tests;

• Serving as key focal point for the Recruitment, Onboarding and Recruitment Marketing aspects of the GCF HR Portal;

• Constantly seeking to improve HR processes and contributing to the development of new policies, and;

• Contributing to other HR work as required.


Required experience and qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant subject e.g.human resource management or MBA with

specialization in HRM;

• Minimum 7 years of experience in similar role in an international/global organization;

• Track record of successfully managing medium scale recruitment;

• Experience in up-to-date recruitment and selection techniques;

• Experience in organizational development would be an advantage;

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the pursuit of organizational goals;

• Exceptionally strong organizational skills and focus on details;

• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines;

• Willingness to work outside normal hours to accommodate communication with candidates in different time zones; and

• Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken); knowledge of another UN language an advantage.

 

This interim position provides an internationally-competitive salary.
