A key strategic role within the fundraising department, the Individual Giving Manager will lead the development and management of, the individual giving strategy for GOAL. The IG Manager will develop a donor recruitment and retention programme which will provide the basis of the public fundraising growth over the next five years. Reporting into the Head of Strategic Partnership, the IG Manager will be responsible for the identification and testing of the best channels for recruitment and for developing donor journey pathways which will maximise supporter lifetime value. Initial contract for 12 months.

Main Duties

Delivery of individual giving income targets through

  • Strategic Development planning and review

    • With input from the Head of Fundraising, SMT members and fundraising team, lead the development of a direct marketing strategic plan and KPI’s including donor growth, donor retention, lifetime value and return on investment.
    • Oversee the development of annual plans and on-going monitoring and reporting against KPI’s
    • Ensure the GOAL marketing mix is optimise to provide the highest ROI on our investment
    • Identify new and innovative donor opportunities and to capitalise on these
    • Develop robust, clear and reliable management information that will help refine GOAL’s fundraising strategy
  • CRM & Data Management

    • Lead in ensuring that GOAL has the best CRM systems and procedures to optimise the donor journey pathways
    • Donor profiling and segmentation in line with the overall donor marketing strategy
    • Working with fundraising & finance teams to ensure the integrity of the CRM data at all times
  • Implementation & Delivery

    • Implement the agreed annual plans including but not limited to, direct mail, direct dialogue, raffle, DRTV, tele-marketing and digital plans
    • Develop and secure annual marketing budgets and monitor and maintain to ensure all expenditure remains within budget
    • Negotiate and manage 3rd party contractors to ensure plans are delivered on-time and within budget
    • Liaise with Operations and Media departments to ensure optimal programme information is used
    • Liaise with fundraising team members to ensure optimal calendar of activity
  • Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Develop robust reporting systems to ensure KPI’s are being reached
    • Oversee the evaluation of individual channel and cross channel expenditures to ensure highest ROI on expenditure
    • Provide market insight and competitive analysis to inform the GOAL strategy
    • Identify market opportunities for GOAL to test
  • Other Duties

    • To provide support and assistance to the Head of Fundraising and the fundraising team as required

Person Specification

Essential

  • 3rd level qualification in a marketing or related discipline
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Experience of managing large and complex direct marketing programmes
  • Very strong understanding of data driven strategy
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • An ability to work on own initiative
  • Very strong teamwork

Desirable

  • NGO Direct marketing experience
  • Knowledge of the charity sector/international development sector an advantage
  • Commitment and interest in the work of GOAL

Our package includes a competitive salary, 22 days annual leave and the possibility to join our Health care scheme. Additional benefits are available after 12 months of service. Salary range for this role is € 40,000 to 55,000. Candidates must be entitled to work in Ireland at the time of application.
