Senior Data Integration Process Associate


Background Information - Job-specific

The United Nations Department of Field Support is responsible for the delivery of services that satisfy the requirements of the Departments of Peacekeeping Operations and Field Support (DPKO/DFS) missions as well as Special Political Missions (SPMs).

The Information and Communications Technology Division of DFS has implemented a range of civilian and military field technologies to address the requirements of peacekeeping operations that have been identified as strategic enablers to make peacekeeping more effective and efficient. Partnerships and bi-lateral sponsorships with member states and other entities are being developed  to facilitate the introduction of innovation and modern technologies to support mandate implementation in UN Field Missions.  

Functional Responsibilities

The incumbent for this post will be placed in the UN Department of Field Support and will report to the Director of the Information and Communications Technology Division (ICTD).

The Senior Data Integration Process Associate will play a technical role in RDM team in Valencia. Under the overall supervision of the RDM Business Solutions Manager in New York, the incumbent will directly work under RDM Delivery Lead or his designate in Valencia. The incumbent will:

  1. Assist in the design and development of reports and dashboards using tools like SAP Business Intelligence and MS Power BI
  2. Analyze requirements and develop visualizations and reporting solution 
  3. Support the development of SQL database and stored procedure. 
  4. Implement ETL processes to bring data from different data sources into data repositories and warehouses.  
  5. Develop cubes and database views to expose data to visualization tools 
  6. Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis 
  7. Perform sanity checks and unit testing of reports.
  8. Participate in end-user testing for bug fixing and issues resolution.
  9. Liaise with support teams for releases and change management 
  10. Process support Work Orders troubleshooting and resolving reporting and BI incidents and problems.
  11. Develop documentation and supporting training materials
  12. Perform other duties as required

The result of work of the Senior Data Integration Process Associate impacts directly on delivery of services that satisfy the requirements of the Department as well as the performance of the services implemented in the DFS/DPKO field missions and headquarters. It will also ensure proper processes and methodologies are followed and implemented according to the latest of the industry standards.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • First-level university degree in Applied Mathematics, Electronics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems / Technology, Engineering or related field is an asset or advantage


  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of ICT, Electronics, Information Systems, or other related fields is required. A candidate with a University degree must have at least two (2) years of experience in the relevant area;
  • Minimum 5 years development experience with MS SQL Server
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Power Power BI or SAP Business Objects 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with data integration, cleansing, ETL related areas using SSIS;
  • Ability to take high level, loosely-defined business problems and identify precise, quantitative solutions;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis and discovery;  


  • Experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative techniques;
  • Experience with SAP HANA
  • Related professional certifications
Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of a second UN language is desirable.
