This consultancy would provide expert information and advice to UNICEF specifically on the consumer finance sector. The purpose would be to help UNICEF understand the future business direction of the sector, to enable the organisation to identify a number of business-revelant partnership opportunities for UNICEF.

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to help provide short-term expertise on partnership opportunities with the consumer finance sector.

UNICEF is on the ground in over 150 countries and territories helping children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. This consultancy would provide expert information and advice to UNICEF specifically on the consumer finance sector. The purpose would be to help UNICEF understand the future business direction of the sector, to enable the organisation to identify a number of business-revelant partnership opportunities for UNICEF.  

How can you make a difference?

Expected results

  • Summary provided of future business priorities and the core assets within the consumer finance sector.
  • Ideas provided on partnership opportunities between the consumer finance sector and UNICEF.
  • Review of UNICEF materials for this sector
  • Support to develop co-creation workshops to develop partnerships with the sector, including advising on approach, content, structure and reviewing and providing input to materials.

Working relationships

Under the general guidance of the Head of New Partnership Development, this consultant will also work closely with the Director Private Funding and Partnerships and other UNICEF specialists in recruiting indivual supporters, communications, and UNICEF’s programmes for children.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

  • Master’s degree in marketing, finance, business or another relevant technical field.  A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • 8 years of professional, relevant work experience, in the consumer finance sector.
  • Ability to work independently, strong written communication skills, ability to review and synthesie information quickly, strategic thinking.
  • Knowledge of the consumer finance sector is crtitical. An understanding of the UN / UNICEF, is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
