UNICEF Supply Division is seeking two Warehouse Managers, who supports UNICEF’s work for children by developing relevant policies, providing guidance in the management of the inventory/warehouse to the country offices and manage Supply Division controlled warehouses in Copenhagen and the hubs enabling Supply Division respond to emergencies and regular programme globally.

These positions will report to the Warehouse Manager and is located within the Warehouse Unit of the Warehouse and Inventory Management Centre in UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen, which supports UNICEF’s work for children by developing relevant policies, providing guidance in the management of the inventory/warehouse to the country offices and manage Supply Division controlled warehouses in Copenhagen and the hubs enabling Supply Division respond to emergencies and regular programme globally.

  

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisors are responsible for the receiving and storage functions in the Warehouse and supervises the operations of planning, packing and shipping of deliveries in cooperation with the other warehouse supervisors.

 

Warehouse Supervisor (Production scheduling) - summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Reviews, plans and coordinates the packing flow of deliveries in terms of priority and delivery date.
  2. Responsible for the release and scheduling of Production Orders and the subsequent packing of UNICEF kits in accordance with the master plan prepared by the Plan & Source Team.
  3. Optimizes the usage of the capacity and resources available and ensures that the packing and loading of orders run efficiently and timely.
  4. Coordinates the outgoing shipments together with the Shipping Unit.
  5. Coordinates the outgoing shipments of External Customers’ stockpile.
  6. Provides input to systems and process enhancements to improve the efficiency.
  7. Ensures that GDP procedures and processes are being strictly followed in the area of responsibility
  8. Manages the packing materials and consumables for warehouse operations and the inventory hereof.
  9. Responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment with the Warehouse Officer according to the procedures in place.
  10. Participates in the investment plans for the warehouse in connection with the budget preparation.
  11. Actively participate in the warehouse operations: Receiving, warehousing, packing, loading.
  12. Act as back-up for the other warehouse supervisors.
  13. Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

 

Warehouse Supervisor (Incoming Shipments) - summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Responsible for all incoming containers and the related paperwork. Ensures that the containers are emptied and returned in an efficient and timely manner.
  2. Responsible for an efficient Receiving process and a well-coordinated flow between Warehouse Receiving and Quality Control. Responsible for the initial control of all incoming shipments.
  3. Prepares return shipments to suppliers and coordinates the paperwork with Quality Assurance and Shipping.
  4. Responsible for a well-functioning warehouse and for optimization of the warehouse capacity through daily warehouse monitoring and maintenance.
  5. Ensures that GDP procedures and processes are being strictly followed in the area of responsibility.
  6. Carries out the weekly, monthly and yearly inventory counts and follows up with FMAC on differences between actual quantities and book quantities.
  7. Coordinates the PSB movements with the Logistics Manager and Warehouse Manager and closely monitors Warehouse 2.
  8. Responsible for the handling of External Customers’ Emergency Stockpile (UNHCR/IFRC) according to the contractual obligations.
  9. Responsible for customs clearance of incoming shipments.
  10. Participates in the investment plans for the warehouse in connection with the budget preparation.
  11. Responsible for handling Supply Division’s Archive Material upon request from the Centres as well as Goods Issues.
  12. Act as back-up for the other warehouse supervisors.
  13. Any other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

  

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Requirements for both positions:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Certified Warehouse and logistics training
  • Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of computerized warehouse systems.
  • Experience in working in a production and warehouse environment and in supervising workers.
  • Advanced computer skills in SAP related modules and WMS
  • Knowledge of barcode scanning systems.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Cape Pack and other job related software.
  • Fluency in English
  • Residency and valid work permit for Denmark

 

Desirables for both positions:

  • Working knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian)
  • Proficiency in Danish
