Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist or Chief, you will provide professional technical advice on project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and enhancing teamwork and capacity building.

Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist or Chief, you will provide professional technical advice on project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and enhancing teamwork and capacity building.

Key Expected Results

 

  1. Accurate, complete and up-to-date information made available for effective budget preparation, Nutrition programme and project design, implementation, management and evaluation.
  2. Project efficiency and effectiveness enhanced through effective implementation follow-on. 
  3. Progress reports and project work plans timely prepared, and effective technical assistance provided in the identification of required supplies and equipment, and in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other project documentation.
  4. Appropriateness and completeness of financial and supply documentation as well as adherence to established allotments ensured.
  5. Knowledge sharing with donors and media promoted.
  6. Effective communication and networking achieved through partnership and collaboration.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Describe in order of importance what incumbent does and how. Do not exceed more than 10-12 major duties. Indicate the percentage of time devoted to each duty or responsibility. Do not include duties of less than 5%.)

    1.  20% Coordinate with the DGHS, DGFP, selected City Corporations, NGOs, WHO, UNFPA, MOE, MOWCA, MOY, MOICT and provide technical support to implementing partners for development, implementation and monitoring of gender responsive adolescent health program in collaboration with other technical specialist of health, nutrition, HIV, WASH, Education, C4D and Gender

 

  1. 20% Provide technical support to implementing partners to develop and introduce comprehensive M&E plan at national level as well as in targeted districts & city corporations in collaboration with M&E department of DGFP, DGHS, city corporation and M&E Officer of Health sections
  2. 15%Provide technical support to implementing partners in delivering effective adolescent friendly health services at community, school, adolescent club & facility level particularly focusing on poor& disadvantaged, provide technical support to DGHS and DGFP to integrate adolescent health interventions along with HPV.

  3. 15% Develop ,implement and monitor evidence based adolescent health plan in targeted district ,Provide oversight of proper implementation of planned activities through field monitoring visits and attending national/sub national level review meetings, enhancing coordination with local level government counterparts, follow up disbursement of fund from national to sub-national level, and timely liquidations of cash advances.

  4. 10%Collects and analyses adolescent health data for the situation analysis, project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation purposes. Prepares tables, graphs and other statistical data. Reports outcome of analysis and proposes corrective actions

  5. 10% Provide technical support to Government and other partners in developing the guidelines, communication materials and conduct the trainings/ meetings/ workshops and program review meetings/workshops including National Adolescent Health network and action plan for adolescent health strategy. Support adolescent health during emergency as and when required.

  6. 5% Provide support to health specialists in updating adolescent health strategy and action plan processing the sales orders and monitoring the supply plan; provide inputs in donor reports and fact sheets, develop case studies, briefing notes, projects presentations and other report when necessary.
  7. 5% Undertake other assignments delegated by supervisor.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate 

  • Advanced university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: public health and nutrition, health sciences, international health and nutrition, public health and nutrition policy and management, family health and nutrition, nutritional epidemiology, health and nutrition education, health and nutrition promotion and disease prevention, public health, health emergency preparedness, or other relevant discipline(s)
  • Two years of relevant professional work experience, including in a developing country, in public health or nutrition
  • Background/familiarity with Emergency.
  • Fluency in English and local working language of the duty
