Background
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in Yemen since 2008. Using a right-based approaches, DRC has mainly focused on refugees, migrants and internally displaced People by conflict and natural disasters. Programs include WASH, protection, Food security/livelihoods and mine risks education, amongst others. DRC has hub offices in Sana’a, Aden, Hodeida and several sub-offices throughout Yemen.
Purpose
The partnership Intern for Grants and Compliance department provides administrative and logistic assistance to the department Coordinator and partnership officer in all aspects. He/she is responsible for maintaining the Grants’ database and generate and distribute the required reports on timely fashion. The incumbent would be responsible for the grants’ department filing system.
Main tasks:
- Maintain the partners database
- Follow up with partners on the monthly reporting information.
- Provide monthly reports on the open grants status.
- Assist in maintaining the filing system and update the units’ filing index.
- Help in keeping all Partners files updated.
- Provide Administrative Support to the Grants and Compliance Department.
- Support in the identification of potential new partners
- Identify partner’s needs, problems and solve with the relevant department
- Develop capacity building plans for the partners according to their needs
- Work in close collaboration with sector program managers and coordinators in proposal development and needs assessment or rapid emergency response.
- Record, disseminate, and file meeting minutes for the grants department.
- Provide logistic support to the grants’ department.
- Follow up the processing of payment and liquidation requests.
- Assist in the development, dissemination, and signing of sub grants agreements.
- Any other tasks related to the office needs.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Personal Attributes:
- Relevant university degree.
- Good skills and experience with Ms Office and internet usage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to make strong relations with community and key persons.
- Ethical, trustworthy, creative, dynamic and enthusiastic.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Hard worker and able to travel in field locations
- INGO experience preferred.
