The Role

Overview:

We are seeking an individual to fill the position of Development Manager to work in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We are looking for a self-motivated individual, adaptable to living in a developing country, with an eagerness to apply their background to serve others. An ideal candidate would have experience working in non-profit, development, and fundraising with leadership experience. They must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. 

Position Overview:

The Development Manager will lead all fundraising and marketing initiatives for EGBOK and its training café Spoons. This individual will maintain and create valuable donor relationships, ensure that we are meeting our monthly fundraising goals, and manage all sales & marketing efforts. The Development Manager will also be expected to conduct periodic fundraising events in Siem Reap to maintain and generate local connections.

Schedule and Commitment:

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible with a two-year commitment to being in Cambodia.

The Development Manager is expected to work 5 days per week (40 hours).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 2 years experience in NGOs or non-profits, international development, or related field
  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree is preferable
  • Has experience living and working in a developing country; Experience in Cambodia or South East Asia is an asset
  • Fluent in English; Knowledge of Khmer is an asset
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising is preferred
  • Is committed to creating change in the Siem Reap and Cambodian community
  • Is self-motivated and values being a part of an effective team
  • Has excellent time management skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with QuickBooks, PayPal, and Salesforce are helpful
  • Knowledge and experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Strong networker both over e-mail and in person with the ability to personally connect with visitors & donors

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain current donor relations while cultivating new ones
  • Manage social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and update website as needed
  • Quarterly newsletter outreach
  • Grant applications and reporting
  • Merchandise sales and production in Cambodia
  • Oversee marketing and communication strategies for EGBOK and its training café Spoons
  • Plan and conduct events & initiatives to promote EGBOK & Spoons as well as local fundraising events
  • Create, recommend and implement marketing programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Administrative & Marketing Assistant
  • Assist with the development marketing and advertising tools
  • Host & engage visitors at EGBOK with fundraising potential
  • Supervision of sales & marketing team members
  • Partake in weekly meetings and bi-monthly conference calls with US and Cambodia teams
  • Conduct administrative tasks as needed
  • Assist EGBOK team members with other aspects of the organization as needed
  • Participate in EGBOK student events and activities

 

Logistics

Contract:

We ask for a two-year commitment from foreign team members. It can often take time to adjust to life in Cambodia and we want to ensure your time here is both meaningful and mutually beneficial.

Benefits:

This is a paid position in Cambodia. Please be aware that although salaries will be enough to live comfortably in Cambodia, they will be in line with what our Cambodian team members are paid. Salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications. EGBOK will assist with the process of obtaining a visa and work permit to live in Cambodia working for EGBOK. Further benefits to be discussed during an interview.

Housing:

EGBOK is located in Siem Reap city center. EGBOK does not provide staff housing, but we can assist you with the process of finding accommodation within your budget.
