Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Basic position description: The log support will play a role in Opt mission, whereas the log support will act as a base log to ensure that the mission procurement plan and support the base log in Gaza and the Log. Coord. In Jerusalem in terms of procurement, fleet, safety and security, inventory and equipment are fulfilled.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Coordination of logistics at mission level

  • Coordination, management and supervision of base logisticians, with attention to Gaza Base.
  • Improve communication systems between all the bases in the Mission and with Madrid,
  • regarding the context and the cost / efficiency

Operational support to the Mission´s security management

  • To contribute to the context analysis, especially in Gaza.
  • Update the log data in the Security Plan

To follow up, give support and do the technical evaluation of all the Logistic staff

  • Training and briefing expatriates and local teams on all log procedures (Jerusalem& Gaza)

Organize, plan and implement the supply and procurement for the Gaza office and projects

  • Coordinate, supervise and follow-up on procurement planning, implementation and closure in coordination with Head of Base, Program Managers and Administration.
  • Implement effective supply chain management of the base, ensure the technical specifications of any materials to be purchased while respecting ACF procurement procedures, deal with the suppliers and organize the delivery of purchased materials.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics, Business, Engineering or another related field. Master in Logistics, Humanitarian Studies or similar an asset.
  • Procurement, security, IT & fleet
  • Experience as coord. log or similar position (2 years) or similar position in humanitarian organisations
  • Evidence of practical experience in logistics management and coordination within the field of supply chain management, fleet/transport management and asset management.
  • Experience in launching national and/or international tenders required.
  • Experience in framework agreements an asset.
  • Experience in coaching/mentoring or training logistics & non-logistics staff
  • Motivation and commitment to humanitarian work and values.
  • Required previous experience in Action Against Hunger
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English. Arabic is an asset
  • IT Systems: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Internet.
  • Ability to travel in West Bank, Jerusalem and stay overnight
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.

REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 3 months.
  • Base: Gaza and Jerusalem
  • Compensation packaged: from 23.022,00 € - 28.152,00 € € gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)

(*) in local currency subject to unexpected changes in currency exchange)

In addition:

  • Guest House or similar accommodation covered by the organization
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • Expat Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization
  • Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100€ to 225€ monthly (according to standard list of ACF-Spain).
  • Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215€.
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
