CARE is seeking a Sexual, Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Senior Director who will provide overall leadership and management of a team of senior SRHR technical advisors, program officers, and associates, providing overall global strategic and technical leadership within CARE, and senior level representation across CI and in the international health and development communities.  The SRHR Senior Director oversees multiple global contract and grants valued at over $70 million and is responsible for the Reproductive Health Trust Fund, an endowment created by USAID and CARE. The Senior Director is responsible for leading CARE's global collaborative SRHR and rights work to develop and implement a global SRHR program vision as CARE moves to work toward transformational change.  He/She guides and manages a team to support a portfolio of over 70 projects in 35+ countries. and he/she directs staff in the provision of strategic technical assistance to the field, knowledge sharing and learning opportunities for CARE staff, advocacy efforts, and fundraising. The SRHR Senior Director represents CARE in high-level international forums on issues related to family planning, maternal health and gender and sexuality including HIV/AIDS. The SRHR Senior Director will engage and nurture strategic partnerships and donor relations with USAID, various professional foundations (e.g. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) and other actors in global SRHR. The SRHR Senior Director routinely interacts with other Senior Directors and teams and engages in organization-wide efforts on program quality and learning.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in public health, social sciences or international development
  • Training in program evaluation 
  • 10-15 years in international sexual and reproductive health
  • 5-10 years managing and leading a team of senior public health professionals
  • Strategic planning, program design, implementation and evaluation of SRHRprograms
  • Experience working on USAID funded programs
  • Successful fundraising experience
  • Significant public speaking and representation experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Demonstrated networking and fundraising skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication abilities
  • Adept at wordprocessing
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach staff, including off-site staff
