18-04 Research Assistant - National Consultant (Vietnam)

POSTING TITLE: Research Assistant- Consultant

PROJECT: TAP-5 project

WORK LOCATION: Hanoi, Vietnam TheInternationalPotato Center(CIP)isseekinga nationalconsultantto provideanalyticalandexperience support to the research projects.

Expected duration:

• This consultancy contract is for 12 months spread over 2018, with possibility of extension, subject to performance and availability of funding.

Deliverables and duties:

• Conduct, analyze and document the experiment’s findings to contribute with the internal discussion

• Supervise research activities in different settings to guarantee the experiments implementation and execution is being followed correctly and all research activities are in excellent agronomic conditions always.

• Support on administration and logistics operations to guarantee an effective supply chain for the projects’ needs.

• Provideprofessionalguidancetothetechnicianandstudentstocontributewiththeirprofessional development within the organization.

• Support first level analysis of data to guarantee the results are accurate and complete. • Interact with national and project partners.

• Facilitate national and regional workshops and knowledge sharing events. • Assess and maintain health and genetic identity of breeding materials. • Comply with applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures. • Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor related to the project’s activity Qualifications/special skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (with thesis completed) in Agronomy, Biology or related area. Preferably with post graduate studies.

• At least 3 years of experience required in similar position preferably on tuber crops • Advance level of MS Office

• Fluent in English and official languages according to specific country location. • Availability to travel locally.
