Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Team Leader of environment and Energy team, the intern will support formulation of pipelines in the area of environmental protection and sustainable energy. This will involve supporting research into key current issue on the topic, and support to development of reports and publications to increase UNDP advocacy and visibility on such issues.
  • During the period of the internship, the intern will also learn about UNDP’s role in supporting partners in China in this area and be exposed to experience with in key cooperation programmes. The intern works in close collaboration with members of the environment and energy team at UNDP.
  • Assist in the formulation of concept note of pipeline projects under the portfolio of private sectors.
  • Identify innovative and effective marketing tools and mechanisms
  • Assist in document translation and necessary data consolidation
  • Provide additional support as necessary

Competencies

  • The Candidate has demonstrated strong capacity on providing support to the project advocacy and information and materials collection.

Required Skills and Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent in environment and energy, Business, Finance or Public Administration or related field is desirable.  
  • Fluency in English and Chinese
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
