Organisational background:

Action Contre la Faim (Action Against Hunger) has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia Since May 1992. Currently, ACF is conducting its humanitarian activities in Somalia focused on treating and preventing malnutrition, increasing access to clean water and appropriate sanitation, strengthening the food-security and the livelihoods and thus boosting the resilience of communities in Somalia as well as emergency response via program bases in Somalia.

The Positions and Responsibilities:

ACF Somalia is looking for suitable candidate to fill Field Administration Assistant, based in Mogadishu. Reports hierarchically & technically to the Field Officer Administration Department, the Field Administration Assistant’s core responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Goal:

This post aims at Supporting the Field Administrator to ensure the role of HR and Finance at Mogadishu base is being carried out smoothly and efficiently.

Objective 1: Provide Financial support on administration of the base’s finances:

Responsibilities;

  • Assist Field Administrator to ensure that all financial transactions are carried out and recorded in accordance with standard financial procedures.

  • Check all supporting documents including Invoices, Receipts, forms etc. to ensure are valid, accurate, genuine and properly approved as per standards.

  • Check all documents and process are in compliance with purchasing procedures

  • Assist Field administrator to ensure all financial records are properly kept and sent to Nairobi

  • Assist and support Field administrator to ensure all relevant Finance roles and activities are smoothly carried out at Mogadishu Base.

Objective 2: Manage the base’s Human Resources

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Field administrator to ensure smooth application of HR policy & procedures at the Mogadishu base;

  • Support Field administrator to keep the individual files up-to-date (Identification, Contract, Job Description, Allowance Requests);

  • Fill out the monthly payroll with all necessary information;

  • Support Field Administrator to prepare and monitor the payment of salaries;

  • Provide HR support to the other departments.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

Essential

  • High School certificate or equivalent

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Administration, Finance and Human Resources field work experience in Somalia preferred.

  • Strong reporting and budget management skills

  • Experience in Financial Management-Accountancy, organizational relations and HR Functions

  • Good organizational skills.

Working knowledge of Somali.
