How can you make a difference? 

You will be joining a team of around 5000 staff in the West Bank Field Office working to foster the human development of some 800,000 registered Palestine refugees.••

Reporting directly to Area Sanitation Officer. •

The main responsibilities include:

•         Performs the full range of chemical, bio-chemical, serological, microscopic and bacteriological tests referred to him/her by Field Environmental Health Officer in the centre to which he/she is assigned;

•         Maintains laboratory records and registers, prepares and submits statistical reports and other relevant information on work performed.

•         Maintains laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents and prepares estimates of requirements for replenishment of consumable supplies.

•         Performs such other duties as may be required.

Conditions of service•

Monthly basic salary JD 834.16. Other benefits include:

• Provident Fund contribution (7.5% •of basic salary staff member contribution, 15% of basic ••salary paid by the Agency)

• Dependency allowances (if applicable)

• 30 days of annual leave

• Compulsory medical insurance

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education

Full secondary education;

Completion of a course in laboratory techniques of two years duration from an institution recognized by UNRWA.

Preference will be given to Diploma and/ or BA holders in water Laboratory technician field.

Work

experience

At least two years experience as laboratory technician.

Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.

Language(s)

Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

You will also need to demonstrate the following competencies:

•         Ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload.

•         Adequate computer skills.

•         Excellent organizational and communication skills.

•         Self-motivated.
