The Division of Communication is responsible for shaping UNICEF’s external image among global stake-holders. It plays a key role in communicating UNICEF’s stance on policy issues, ensuring that the rights of children and women remain a development priority. The Division is responsible for developing global advocacy, brand and communication strategies, as well as normative communication guidance for the organization. The Brand Building Section ensures that UNICEF’s brand reflects organizational credibility and integrity to inspire public support for equitable results for children and to unite the organization in a clear and compelling vision to realize children’s rights. The Section comprises of Brand, Campaigns, Goodwill Ambassador and Event Teams. This post will be responsible for leading the development, management and production of World Children's Day 2018 campaign and special events.

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent will lead the development, management and production of the World Children’s Day 2018 campaign and special events.

  • Lead the development and management of high-visibility special events, including campaign and day-of-event coordination for World Children’s Day.
  • Manage overall production of assets for World Children’s Day.
  • Support the Brand Building Section in the development of public-facing campaigns and initiatives related to World Children’s Day.
  • Promotion and distribution of World Children’s Day assets to support UNICEF’s global communication priorities.
  • Manage small internal team and production deadlines for World Children’s Day campaign and special events.
  • Coordination of NatCom and Country Offices planning for World Children’s Day.
  • Support the Brand Building Section in project management and public-facing campaigns including the brand strategy roll-out.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in communications, design, arts or directly related field. A first university degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in events, production, communications or public relations.
  • Experience working in the development sector, governmental entity or other international organization is an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.  Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
