How can you make a difference?

Under close supervision and technical guidance, provide support to the Area of Early Childhood Development, Health in the planning and organizing of a variety of tasks related to programme/projects implementation and follow-up. 

We are looking for a dynamic Programme Assistant to support UNICEF’s Nicaragua Health and ECD programmes in the following areas:

  1. Collects data and other information on development, Early Childhood Development, Health and/or subject-matter activities. Processes and examines information and data in accordance with instructions received, making necessary abstracts and computations.
  2. Draft and processes operations in SAP-VISION system in order to verify the accuracy of documentation processed in accordance with the acceptable accounting procedures for action by supervisor.
  3. Provide technical and administrative support and follow up logistical arrangement, appointments for supervisor, and making logistical coordination for travels in Programme Section.
  4. Maintains proprecord of the section in the implementation of Programme Cycle, updating the database in SAP/VISION System.
  5. Assists in the preparation of all information material, working papers and financial tables for analysis and decision making in briefing and review sessions.
  6. Takes notes during meetings, prepares minutes and ensures follow up to actions agreed upon.
  7. Maintains, logs, files and updates records in prescribed format for subsequent use.
  8. Undertakes visits to implementing partners to review systems and procedures for compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations as well as HACT guidelines and prepare reports and recommendations. Also carries out assurance visits and spot checks for compliance testing. Prepares and conducts training to staff and implementing partners.l

To qualify as an champion for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education, university level studies is an asset;
  • Project development skills is an asset.
  • Computer operationg and sofware skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Financial software.
  • A minimum of five years of office expirience in similar posts. Including administration, record, keeping and processing of information abstrated from computer system. 
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
