The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

Plan International has implemented a global Programme and Influence Quality Policy that ensures programme quality is at the heart of everything we do. It is supported by Programme Quality Procedures, which focus on how Plan designs and implements all of its programme work at the strategic and operational level.

This position will lead and continue to develop the Programme Quality Procedure for project management, which will have a major impact on all of Plan’s Country Offices. The position will work as part of a programme delivery unit working directly with countries to strengthen project cycle management, generating good practice and coordinating resources to meet needs.

The Individual

With proven experience of managing NGO programmes in the field, at both a strategic and operational level you will have proven experience of developing, articulating and implementing policies, procedures and supporting tools to a wide range of audiences from formal governance structures to field offices. Experience of coordinating with multiple stakeholders, establishing strong networks and building capacity in programme management through both direct and remote support will be imperative.

A credible influencer and communicator, you will have an inclusive, consultative and adaptive approach to decision making, experienced in navigating complex organisational structures.
