Purpose of the Job:
The role of the Logistic/warehouse Assistant is to do basic procurement, stock and warehouse, fleet, assets and other support to the support section on project logistical and procurement needs, and The Logistic/warehouse Assistant will contribute to response for on time deliveries of the program through supporting team and use of relevant and timely documentation and format based on SO scale, relevance, and effectiveness accordingly. Within this context, the Logistic/warehouse Assistant will provide support to Tirin kot staff pertaining to Support section.

Job description

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.

  • Manage the day to day logistics activities at Kandahar office and provide line management support to direct reports.
  • Ensure that procurement activities in Kandahar office are carried out according to SOPs, supplier database is updated, procurement tracking sheets are shared and files/records are well maintained.
  • Be responsible for all logistics activities at Kandahar office and ensure that all activities are carried out following Logistics SOPs & Handbook.
  • Responsible for all logistics activities including basic procurements, stocks & warehouse, fleet, assets for NRC Kandahar office.
  • Ensure that NRC’s standard logistics rules & procedures are applied and adhered.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements for office staffs.
  • Arrange logistical support for internal and external trainings that are organized by NRC in Tirin kot.
  • Responsible for issuing fuel to NRC vehicles and generators and maintain proper records of fuel.
  • Ensure that NRC vehicles & generators are well serviced, maintained and log books are filled correctly.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly logistics reports to Field Office Coordinator and seek his guidance & support on matters related to logistics
  • Ensure that all equipment’s are kept safely and well maintained.
  • When required, is able to travel to other provinces/parts of Afghanistan.
  • Assist in promoting NRC core values and creating awareness about procurement policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all warehouse relevant tasks in the assigned duty station (facilitating between KDR logistic and Tirin Kot team).
  • Properly ensure that all the stocks are maintained and kept well in Tirin Kot.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors level education is desirable.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role/position in an INGO or humanitarian agency.
  • Good in English, both written and verbal.
  • Having knowledge of asset management and reporting.
  • Good computer skills - MS Office & database.
  • Good control and supervisory skills.
  • Good communication skills.
