Do you want to be part of the NRC’s Head Office, serving our head office, regions and country programs? NRC is looking for a highly motivated finance professional, with specific experience from serving large NRC programs, donor audits and other financial control tasks.

The Finance Coordinator will contribute with field experience to language skills to strengthen our Global Finance function. He/She will support implementation of NRC Financial policies and procedures, support with end of period procedures, support on external and internal audits, and perform finance tasks as per Global Finance priorities.

 

Job description

The Finance Coordinator is contributing to Global Finance follow-up, support and liaison to head office, regions and countries. 

 

Generic responsibilities

  1. Contribute to Global Finance period-end tasks, liaise with regions and countries as necessary.

  2. Assist in the development of policies and strategies related to financial management, risk management, budgeting and funds management in NRC, all in compliance with laws and regulations.

  3. Contribute to further development of the guidance and tools related to the 'Securing Supporting Documentation' project, including support with practical roll-out.

  4. Take part in running accounting tasks, e.g. registering invoices, reconciling accounts, quality control, process travel claims, etc.

  5. Provide support during global audit processes (i.e. finding supporting documentations, quality checking supporting documentation)

  6. Contribute in the help desk function for Unit4 Agresso and related NRC excelerator tools.

  7. Coordinate the triannual Financial Compliance reporting carried out by Global Finance on the Country offices.

  8. Assist Finance Advisers on various tasks and gap-fill when needed.

  9. Any other tasks as requested by the line manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Finance Coordinator or similar positions in a humanitarian program, preferably in a complex NRC program.

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience from working with NRC systems, especially Agresso and related Excelerator tools

  • Experience from working with financial compliance in complex and volatile contexts

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

  • Fluency in English and one other NRC main language (Arabic, French, Spanish), both written and verbal
